For the past decade, Phillip Martin has competed in HEMA cutting tournaments, winning many gold medals in advanced cutting tournaments. He teaches cutting classes on a regular basis as the cutting instructor at the Phoenix Society of Historical Swordsmanship. He has also run multiple national level cutting tournaments which draw competitors from around the US and Canada.
