Marc Lawrence is an author of many books on the subject of the use of the Shashka and is a known and respected translator of historical Russian manuals on the subject. He recognized as a subject matter expert by Don Cossacks of Rostov on the Don, Russia, and is an active member of the Shermecci- Cossack Games. He has been honored for his work by Marital Arts History Museum, he has appeared on Russian and Armenia Television channels. He has produced hundreds of free videos to help grow the art. He is a maker of training weapons for use in the art. He has organized groups in this fighting art in multiple countries.
